What We Do

What We Do
Recruitment Service recruits temporary, fixed term and permanent staff to all non-industrial grades within the Northern Ireland Civil Service Departments and Agencies including administrative, executive, professional, technical, scientific, ancillary, legal and medical posts.
While the Northern Ireland Civil Service competitions remain the core of our business we have steadily sought to broaden our customer base to include central government departments and an increasing number of Non Departmental public Bodies such as the Northern Ireland Assembly, Northern Ireland Audit Office, Northern Ireland Court Service, Museums Council for Northern Ireland, Planning Appeals Commission, DPP and the Law Society for Northern Ireland.
The blend of skills and experience we offer makes a real difference to the effectiveness of our customers recruitment competitions. We aim to provide a 'seamless' service based on meeting customer needs through teamwork.
In addition to this operational side of our service our staff also specialise in policy and recruitment issues ensuring that our processes and procedures are continually updated to retain our reputation as the main provider of a high-quality, cost effective and efficient recruitment service.
To facilitate our customers we have a dedicated Interview Support service which ensures the smooth running of meetings and selection interviews. Where testing is required our staff, who have been trained in the delivery of psychometric testing and awarded recognised credits, are in the position to carry out such a process. Specially tailored rooms are available both at Belfast and Londonderry to meet these requirements.
The objective of Recruitment Service is to provide a service which treats all applicants equally regardless of gender, disability, race or community background. We also ensure that the requirements of the Northern Ireland Civil Service Commissioners Recruitment Code are satisfied where recruitment to posts in the Civil Service is involved. All applications are processed to the highest standards of integrity, impartiality and fairness.
We are also committed to ensuring that our practices and procedures comply fully with equal opportunities legislation and recommended best practice. Our internal procedures monitor each stage of competitions and we also review and develop procedures and guidelines following the introduction of new legislation or as a result of recommendations from other bodies.
Against this background we have endeavoured to broaden our scope and improve the quality of the services we offer.
